What makes a friend a “new” referral
To keep the program fair, a referred friend has to be genuinely new to DealMagik. Sign-up is blocked as a qualifying referral if the new account shares any of the following with one that already exists:

Frequently asked questions
Who can use the Shopper Referral Program?+
Any DealMagik shopper. You can refer a friend to join as a shopper, or scout a local business you think belongs on the marketplace — both pay out in MagikBucks.
How much do I earn, and when?+
- Refer a friend: you both get $10in MagikBucks. Your friend's $10 lands immediately after phone verification, usable on a first order of $20+. Yours lands after that order is complete and a 48-hour refund window passes.
- Scout a business: you earn $50 in MagikBucks after the referred business completes onboarding, publishes a full menu of deals, and stays active for 30 consecutive days. The business gets a welcome package, not MagikBucks.
What counts as a “new” referral?+
A referred friend must be entirely new to DealMagik — sign-up won't qualify if the new account shares a phone number, credit card or billing address, device ID, or IP address with an existing account. Phone verification is required for every new sign-up.
What businesses can I scout?+
Local, consumer-facing businesses that are new to DealMagik — food & beverage, beauty & wellness, retail & gifts, home & auto services, and local experiences & arts. We don't accept scouted referrals for B2B services or heavily regulated professional services (law firms, accountants, notaries, consulting). DealMagik reviews every referred business before approving a payout.
Where and how can I share my referral link?+
Share it with people you actually know — direct messages, email, text, or in person. The following are not allowed and can get your link deactivated:
- Posting it on public sites — Google, Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, Reddit, or coupon sites like RetailMeNot or Honey
- Buying paid ads targeting DealMagik keywords to promote your link
- Spamming people you don't know by email or text
DealMagik has sole discretion to determine whether a referral qualifies. If your link turns up on a public or coupon site, it will be deactivated and any pending MagikBucks voided.
Is there a limit to how many referrals I can make?+
Yes — you can earn rewards on up to 25 successful friend referrals and 10 successful business referrals per calendar year.
What happens if my friend cancels or gets a refund?+
Your MagikBucks sit in a pending state until 48hours after your friend's order completes. If they cancel, dispute the charge, or get a refund before then, the pending reward is voided. If you've already received and spent it, DealMagik can deduct the equivalent amount from future MagikBucks you earn.
Do MagikBucks expire? Can I cash them out?+
Referral MagikBucks expire 90days from the date they're issued. They have no cash value, can't be withdrawn to a bank account, and can't be combined with certain platform-wide promo codes at checkout.
