Meet the Owner

Lea Gilbertson

“I was born in a small area in northwest Italy, Valle d’Aosta. I attended the University of Turin, where I majored in Italian language and literature, with a special focus on music, art, cinema, and theater. After graduating, I taught Italian literature, grammar, and world history at the high school level for 14 years. I also had the opportunity to teach Italian at the Lycée International de Paris. In addition, I taught Italian as a second language to adult students for 3 years. My passion is literature in any language, because great writers express universal truths and passions that transcend time and culture. Tutoring one-on-one allows me to identify the individual needs of my students and help them discover the joy and romance of the Italian language. That’s what makes it so enjoyable. With my good sense of humor, my lessons tend to be both educational and fun.”
